Envision Optical is excited to have renowned local Gold Coast Behavioural Optometrist, Alice Forsyth join the team on 4th December. Having worked with Andrew at the old Brian Job Optical group in the late 1990’s, it is great to have Alice join our Gold Coast optometry group where she will bring over 20 years of experience in behavioural optometry care to our patients. Alice will be based predominantly at our Nerang branch, available for appointments on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and every second Saturday.

On graduating from the University of NSW in 1985, Alice has worked in rural and suburban Optometry, moving with her family to the Gold Coast in 1995. When her own son had difficulty learning to read, she began to build a knowledge base in visual development and behavioural optometry, which continues to engage her. Alice has a keen interest in:

  • paediatric optometry
  • visual information processing assessments
  • Vision therapy
  • myopia development and management
  • eye turns (strabismus) and lazy eyes (amblyopia)
  • acquired brain injury and the mechanics of vision – the fine motor control of the eyes that we use every day to see efficiently and comfortably.

Alice enjoys enabling all individuals to meet the high level of visual demands in their daily lives – from mobility, to learning, to sport. She is currently studying for her Fellowship with the Australasian College of Behavioural Optometry.
