A Sight Worth Saving

Did you know the leading cause of blindness and severe vision loss in Australia is macular disease? This includes diabetic eye disease and macular degeneration. For both young and old Australians, these diseases take away the sight of those affected.

For the past four years, the Macular Disease Foundation Australia has held the annual mEYE World Photographic Competition.  The good news is, the 2014 competition has now opened!

The theme this year is ‘A Sight Worth Giving’. To enter, simply submit a photo along with 30-60 words explaining how your entry captures the competition theme.

Ita Buttrose is the Foundation Patron and heads up the judging panel. Amongst the impressive panel is iconic artist Ken Done, internationally recognised photographer Rex Dupain and one of Australia’s longest serving news photographers Alan Pryke.
